Furniture recommendation

I keep recommending this to people, so, here you go:

Bed frame endorsement. I got their Nomad platform bed with rolling drawers underneath. I have a separate headboard that’s cleated to the wall (decorative only) so I don’t have to worry about its structural integrity.

Birds and Beans coffee!

At some point, I’m going to write a comprehensive summary of my buying habits, which goes something like “you get what you pay for; unless you don’t.” About how some luxury items are worth it, and some are just a waste of money, and everyone is going to draw their line in a different place. About how most good quality products aren’t cheap, but we don’t need to drown ourselves in a sea of Vebelen Goods either.

But for today, I just want to highlight the fact that I’m really happy I buy (some of) my coffee from a company that is focused on preserving bird habitat.

Flamecraft is an utter delight

I backed this board game on Kickstarter purely on the basis of the little bread dragon making creme brulee, but I’m so glad I did. (I just wish I’d gotten the pink fancy dragon, too!)

If you’d ever like to come play it with me, and I know you IRL, just say the word. My child doesn’t often have the attention span to play a full game of it.

Flamecraft on Board Game Geek (buy it at your friendly local game store!)

Mask reviews

My friend recommended these for if you need folks around you to be able to read your lips. Savewo 3DMASK Smile.

I personally found MaskLab a little bit too scratchy and stiff for my tastes, but the patterns are *so* cute. I wish they were softer! Or I was tougher!

Early on, I bought a big variety of masks from BeHealthyUSA.

Of them, I found Bluna to be my favorite (but also fairly difficult to get in my size).

Ilwoul was also good.

Dr. Puri was slightly less soft than Bluna, but still pretty good.

Blue, size Large, fit my husband okay but was too big for me.

I’ll try to keep updating this post as I get more data about what masks fit my face.

I’ll also make a second post about cloth masks.
