Appendicitis processing

So, I had appendicitis last weekend! Be warned, this gets gross!

It started with a tummy ache all Saturday but thought it was gas

Then I felt dizzy and nauseous and thought it was food poisoning

Then I vomited up everything since Eve ate the apple and still felt bad, so that’s when I called 911

By then I couldn’t walk, so they had to carry me down in a special firefighter chair

They got there before the ambulance did

They made me a wearable barf bag and carried me down the stairs and onto a stretcher

One of my friends came over to pack a hospital bag

He stayed with me in the ER until 2 and I made him go home (I was almost at a room)

Then I stayed in a room thinking I’d have surgery at 12, but they pushed it to 3, then 8

I was in so much pain 😭

They put pneumatic sleeves on my legs to reduce the risk of blood clots (and also put me on a blood thinner) since I was lying down so much.

When talking to someone about this — Oh I actually loved the squeezy leg sleeves? It felt like a hug!

….am I ned flanders

The only bad part was I couldn’t unbuckle them independently so I couldn’t use the bathroom without help which meant I couldn’t walk as much as they wanted. It was kind of a vicious cycle.

Told another friend about it:

You can ask Sam for the full play by play

He was my ride or die at the ER

Not my ride

That was the ambulance

Just my ride-or-die

Not my ride

That was the ambulance

Just my ride-or-die

I’ve been pasting funny or fairly complete text messages into this post for a few days now, and I think I’ll hit publish? There’s not a lot else to say here. I am so profoundly grateful to everyone who’s helped me through this.
